DESCRIPTION

Safe, clean, fast - that's train travel in Japan. For a total of two weeks we explored the country with backpack and train. And we were thrilled: In Japan you can find everything - beautiful natural landscapes for hiking, pulsating big cities, an interesting and extraordinary culture, incredibly friendly people and also a few crazies and curiosities - at least for us Europeans. A visit to Japan is worthwhile for everyone! It's best to buy a Suica card right at the start, because you can use this rechargeable money card to travel by train, subway and bus in Japan. If you also want to take the train more often, you should definitely buy the Japan Rail Pass (JR Pass) from your home country. der-japan-rail-pass.de The train connections can be found on the following page: hyperdia.com

Shibuya Crossing, 2 Chome, 2-1, Dogenzaka

Shibuya Crossing is a world famous landmark of Tokyo. When it is green, pedestrians flow in all directions - even diagonally - across the street, allegedly up to 15,000 per green phase at peak times. The best view from above is either from the Starbucks window or, even better, from the roof terrace of the "Magnet by Shibuya109" shopping center, which can be found on google maps under the name "Crossing Photo".

Tokyo Sky Tree, 1 Chome, 1-2, Oshiage

In the Rauthaus there is a free viewing platform with a great view over the city. How to get there: The subway station (Tochōmae Station; accessible with the Ōedo Line) is about 5 minutes walk away. Opening times: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., last entry 30 minutes before closing

Simply explore the city on foot every now and then and of course try out various delicacies such as the sushi travel corners from the Family Market or 7 Eleven. (There is also a cheap and delicious coffee here)
