2-week round trip through Panama with a backpack
Published: Aug, 2020 | Travel Date: Jul - Aug 2018
DESCRIPTION
During our two weeks in Panama we saw and experienced a lot. The country is very diverse: there are big cities, beautiful islands and beaches, tropical rainforests with great hiking trails, but also plenty of opportunities to party. We (two young women) got around Panama mainly with local coaches and never felt uneasy. The infrastructure is quite well developed so that you can explore the country without a car.

Activities and Sights
Transportation to next station
Car | 04:00 Hours
To get to the San Blas Islands you have to book a tour. The transfer was also included here. We were picked up in an off-road vehicle. The roads to the port are very winding and bumpy and not for a faint stomach.
Ship | 00:40 Hour
After arriving at the port, we were picked up by our "host family" in a small boat.

SUMMARY
The travel time was unfortunately not ideal, because August is the rainy season in Panama. But we knew that and have adjusted to it. Unfortunately, some of the trips were not that nice. Still, we saw a lot of Panama in two weeks. A combination with Costa Rica is recommended if you have more time.
